Pavel Efremoff emigrated with his family from Moscow, Russia at the age of 10. At the time Russia was a communist country, and though it was a difficult and restricting lifestyle, the country held high regard for artists, actors and philosophers. He was raised with the belief that artists are an asset to culture and society - just as much as scientists and doctors.
Today, Pavel lives and works in Philadelphia. He is an accomplished sculptor and art restorer. His work is influenced by the mythology and history of both the Russian and American cultures he was raised in. He works with traditional materials using traditional techniques- adding his unmistakable and completely unique touch to his work. His work is in several private collections around the Philadelphia area. When Pavel is not in his studio creating sculpture he can be found restoring art pieces, antiques, and gilt frames for various institutions, private collectors and dealers, and churches throughout the tri-state area. He also teaches bronze foundry at The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art.
