Zachary was born in Sandpoint, Idaho in 1981 and currently lives on works in Philadelphia. The son of a sculptor Zachary has always held close to him the passion that a sculptor can unveil through form. After studying at the Barnstones Studios in Pennsylvania for two years he then attended the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts for the chance to study with a collection of notable sculptors. His study in both figurative sculpture and bronze casting allowed him to immediately transition into a sculpture co-op and build his own personal bronze foundry. He continues to be passionate about the figure continually searching for the visual definition of divinity. He explores single figure compositions that try to abstractly express human triumph and sacrifice.
Zachary Kainz is working on a new body of work and is also contracting himself out to Sculpture Conservators and fabricating bronze for other sculptors.
