Hayley Murphy is a British artist who divides her creative time between sculpture, painting and printmaking. She currently lives and works in Philadelphia, PA and is part of a group of sculptors at Traction Company in West Philadelphia.
Hayley’s work combines expressions of light and color. Her work acts as a vehicle between the physical and abstract world, catching the viewer’s attention with nuances of light, color, and form.
Reverberating hues and recurring geometric abstractions are layered to create movement, relative subtlety and the suggestion of another world.
Her paintings, sculptures and prints manifest her clear fascination with the Interaction of Color and light. Each exploration seeks to create work on the verge of something or somewhere else; a gentle shimmer of the other into the fantastical oracle of space.
